I’m Xiao Wang, an analytics and technology leader based in Houston. I build systems that connect quantitative research with the people who use it.
My background
Beijing. Chicago.
Boston. Houston.
I studied software engineering at Beijing University of Technology, then earned a master’s in computer science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My early engineering work included Motorola and research software in Chicago.
In the Boston area, my focus moved toward quantitative research and trading technology. At Nautilus, I’ve worked on research platforms and technology strategy as Partner and CTO. At Fox Capital, I developed systems for strategy testing, trading, and risk management.
I joined Musket in October 2024 as a Quant Analyst and became Manager of Analytics in June 2025. Today, I lead work across quantitative modeling, data engineering, and web applications, partnering with trading teams to solve business problems.

A new hometown.
I’m a dad to two boys, Andrey and Eddie, and we have a family dog. In August 2025, I moved from the Boston area to Houston.
The move came with a memorable road trip: I drove from Boston to Houston with both boys and our dog. Planning that journey called for a different set of problem-solving skills than building an analytics platform.
I like the connection between those two parts of life: figuring things out, staying curious, and making room for whatever comes next.
